Pontiac Restaurant-HOPE Shelter Collaborative

The collaborative is designed to help local restaurants survive the pandemic while also feeding people sheltering at the HOPE homeless shelter.

COVID-19 has been tough on us all; but especially on small businesses, such as the local restaurants in Downtown Pontiac. Pontiac is a particularly vulnerable area.

To help ensure the survival of Pontiac restaurants, the Pontiac Restaurant-HOPE Shelter Collaborative rises to advocate for your support. Please help these organizations overcome the added barriers that come with the pandemic.

When you donate to the collaborative, these restaurants will provide their meals to guests of HOPE shelters, where people who are experiencing homelessness, in addition to the effects of the pandemic, will receive help to resolve their homelessness. (Each year, more than 250 HOPE guests exit the shelter to a place they can call home – and keep as their home.)

As an added bonus, right now, your donation will be doubled! The first $10,000 donated for the Pontiac Restaurant-HOPE Shelter Collaborative will be matched by a generous donor. Please give.

Together, we can make a powerful impact.

The following restaurants are part of this collaborative and we hope you will consider ordering your takeout meals, from them, too.

Little Mo  51 N Saginaw St., Pontiac, MI 48342        248-481-6609      www.littlemorocks.com

Liberty Bar & Poutinerie  85 N Saginaw St., Pontiac. MI 48342        248-758-0771      www.thelibertybar.com

Fillmore 13 Brewery   7 N Saginaw St., Pontiac, MI 48342         248-977-3972       www.Fillmore13Brewery.com

If you are a local restaurant that would like to be included, please email BWright@HopeWarmingPontiac.org.

Goal is to support restaurants while feeding guests of the shelter:

Each dollar raised goes directly into meals. The average cost of a meal from these restaurants is $8.30. Each time there is enough money to buy 80 meals, one of the restaurants will serve the meal.

The first $10,000 raised for the collaborative will be matched by a generous donor who believes in this project. Please give to help make this a success for restaurants and for those seeking shelter.

How It Works
Neighbors, friends, family, colleagues, and community members see the crisis unfolding from inside their homes and want to help. FLAG of Metro Detroit provides a meaningful and effective way to contribute to relief efforts.

1

Collect Donations From The Community

FLAG of Metro Detroit accepts contributions of any size, although most contributions are $10-$20. Every penny goes directly to the purchase of food.

2

Buy Meals From Locally-Owned Restaurants

The FLAG team uses those contributions to arrange for individually packaged meals—starting at 50 and going up to 300 to 500 at a time—from locally owned restaurants in Southeast Michigan.

3

Deliver Those Meals To Front Line Medical Staff

Meals are then delivered (safely) to local hospitals to feed hundreds of front line medical workers. Lunch and dinner deliveries take place every day to multiple hospitals in Southeast Michigan.
