HOPE is seeking two to three overnight service coordinators. This is a temporary independent contractor position. Shifts are 8 hours each evening from 11 PM to 7 AM. Please send your resume by November 15 to Elizabeth Kelly, Executive Director via email ekelly@hopewarmingpontiac.org.
Experience: Service Coordinators should have some previous experience working or volunteering with human service programs serving individuals struggling with substance abuse, mental illness, or other issues that might contribute to complex behavioral problems. One or more years of work or volunteer experience in challenging interpersonal contexts is helpful.
Warming Center Coordinators are temporary independent contractors. The 2011-12 operating season will begin November 25, 2011, and end April 15, 2012. Wages are $12 per hr. Coordinators will report to the warming center’s executive director.

· Coordinators are responsible for onsite shelter operations, including nightly preparation; coordination of supportive services for guests; enforcing shelter schedule and policy; and volunteer training and supervision.
· Coordinators will track and report delivery of all services provided, via the web-based Michigan Homeless Management Information System.
· Coordinators will implement programming for guests and volunteers, as assigned by the executive director.
· Coordinators will carry out any additional tasks assigned..
Expectations • Coordinators will consistently report for scheduled shifts in a timely manner, and remain alert and attentive to their assigned responsibilities throughout the duration of their shift. • Coordinators will abide by the organization's operational policies and activity schedules, and will enforce warming center rules in an equitable manner—consistent with the organization's mission, and with previous decisions made by fellow staff members. • Coordinators will consistently treat warming center guests, volunteers, and other staff members respectfully, and maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times. • During each shift, Coordinators will orient all actions and decisions around moving the organization's mission forward, while maintaining the safety and well-being of our guests and volunteers. • All coordinators must have current CPR certification.
Qualifications Education: High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in social work or some undergraduate-level coursework related to human services preferred.
